Robert Buckingham

January 20, 1934 — March 9, 2006

Robert 'Bob' Lee Buckingham, 72, of 372 Fritz Hollow Road, Bluff City, died, Thursday, March 09, 2006 at Princeton Transitional Care at North Side Hospital. He was a native of Washington County and a son of the late Georgia Bell Buckingham. Mr. Buckingham was a member of Poplar Ridge Christian Church and was retired from Sprint. He was a member of the King Masonic Lodge # 461 in Bristol the Jericho Shrine Temple in Kingsport and a member of Scottish Rite Bodies in Knoxville. He is survived by his wife of fifty years, JoAnn Tickel Buckingham; two daughters, Lisa A Simpson and her husband, Ricky W. and Kimberly L. Barnes and her husband, T. Scott 'Bubba' all of Bluff City; five grandchildren, Lacey Simpson, Hannah Simpson, Robert 'Robbie' Simpson, Megan Barnes and Brandon Barnes of the U. S. Air Force; two nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 PM Saturday from Poplar Ridge Christian Church. A Masonic service by the Bristol Lodge # 461 will be conducted at 7:30 PM Saturday at the church. Mr. Roland Whittemore, Mr. Brad Perry and Mr. Gerry Rhodes will officiate. Burial will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday in the Poplar Ridge Christian Church Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at the cemetery for these services. Music will be provided by Patricia Cross, Karalee Sprinkle and Stacey Ivester. Pallbearers will be Gene Booher, Jim Perkins, Daniel Arnold, Larry Brancaccio, Ray Dugger, Jerry Gragg, Johnny Miller, Tony Stout, Gene Camper and Joe Riffey. Honorary pallbearers will be Stanley Cross and R B Cross, Willing Workers Class and Ridgerunners of Poplar Ridge Christian Church and Conrad Blankenbecler. A special thanks to the 5200 floor of the Johnson City Medical Center and the Princeton Transational Care Staff. The family will receive friends at the church from 6:00 until 7:30 PM on Saturday.
