Robert Wolfe Bowman

Robert Wolfe Bowman, Jr., age 76, of 1209 Old Gray Station Road, Johnson City, Tennessee died Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at his residence. A native and lifelong resident of Johnson City, Mr. Bowman was the son of the late Robert W. Bowman and the late Janelle Barnett Bowman. Mr. Bowman was a co-owner of Bowmans Jewelers in Johnson City. He was a United States Navy veteran. Mr. Bowman was a member of the Johnson City Rescue Squad for many years. Mr. Bowman loved nature, especially birds and butterflies. He enjoyed boating and riding motorcycles and could appreciate the beauty of nature from that perspective. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Sage Bowman; three children, Victoria B. Duever and her husband Michael R. of Denver, Colorado, Robert W. Bowman III of Johnson City, Linda Bowman ODell and her husband Shawn of Johnson City; three sisters, Betty B. Noel of Columbia, South Carolina, Dotty B. Scholten Freeman of Johnson City, Clanetta B. Davis of Johnson City and two brothers, James J. 'Denny'? Bowman and his wife Dolores of Johnson City and Charles Bowman and his wife Nancy of Knoxville, Tennessee; one grandchild, Chloe ODell and a special brother-in-law and sister-in-law Larry Leo Sage and his wife Barbara Sage of Knoxville. Funeral services for Mr. Bowman will be held at 8:00 PM on Friday, June 1, 2007 at Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. Rev. Dan Foster will officiate. Graveside services and burial will be Saturday at 10:00 AM at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Shawn ODell, Mike Deuver, Jay Bowman, Leo Sage, Wayne Thomas and Johnny Trinkle. Honorary pallbearers will be Curtis Rhea, Ed Bingam and Rudy Clark. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
