Roby B. Lowe, 93 of 116 Hillmont Drive, Johnson City died Sunday, June 20, 2010 in the Hermitage Health Center in Elizabethton. Mr. Lowe was a native Carter County, TN and was a son of the late George and Annie Ensor Lowe. Mr. Lowe was a retired truck driver with Transit-Mix and was a former self-employed concrete worker. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving with the 555 Motor Ambulance Company during WW II. Mr. Lowe was of the Free Will Baptist faith. He is preceded in death by: his parents; a daughter Joan Cable; two granddaughters Cindy Norris and Summer Lowe; a great grandson Andrew Tripplett; four sisters Bessie Peters, Ethel Crow, and Thelma Crocetta ; five brothers, Dan Lowe, Thomas Selmer Lowe , Eugene Lowe, Lonza Lowe, and Jim Lowe. Survivors include: his wife, Elizabeth Catherine Calloway Lowe of Elizabethton; one daughter, Libby Sproles of Johnson City; three sons, Jim and his wife Lee Lowe of Johnson City, Arthur and his wife Lisa Lowe of Richmond, KY, Roby Lee and his wife Sandra Lowe of Jonesborough, TN; two sisters, Georgia Parker and Evone Arnett both of Johnson City; one brother, Delmer Lowe of Johnson City; fourteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. A graveside funeral service for Roby B. Lowe will be conducted at 10 AM Wednesday, June 23, 2010 in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Rev. Tim Bowers will officiate. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 9:50 AM Wednesday. Memorial gifts may be sent to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
