Ronda E. Paw Hathaway

Ronda 'Paw' Eugene Hathaway, 78, formerly of 820 Johnson Avenue, Johnson City, died Sunday, June 25, 2006 at the Life Care Center in Gray. He was a native of Carter County and had lived in Johnson City since 1947. He was a son of the late Walter and Bessie Campbell Hathaway. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Lee Henson Hathaway and by four brothers, Raymond, Robert, Ralph and Reagan Hathaway and three sisters, Ruth Frye, Rowena Penix and Rena Street. He was a U. S. Army-Air Force veteran. Mr. Hathaway was with the 35th fighter group of the 5th Air Force during W. W. II. He was a retired welder of ITT Corporation with North American Rayon Inc. Survivors include; two sons, Douglas Hathaway and Michael Hathaway and his wife Terri all of Johnson City; one daughter, Vickie Lykowski and her husband, Dennis of Berlin Heights, OH; one brother, Richard Hathaway of Elizabethton; two sisters, Ruby Garland of Johnson City and Rose Hathaway of Elizabethton; six grandchildren, Ray Anderson of Jonesborough, Jessie Cardwell, Becky Hathaway and Mike Hathaway, Jr. all of Johnson City, Billy Whittamore of Virginia and Renee Whittamore of Florida; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 PM Wednesday from the Morris-Baker South Chapel with Rev. Mack Houston and Rev. George Higgins officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday at the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ray Anderson, Carroll Charles, George Hall, Charles Palmer, Terry Sparks and Clyde Stevens. Friends and family are asked to meet at the funeral home by 1:30 PM Thursday and proceed to the cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday.
