Rosa P. Babb, 66, 133 Miller Hill Road, Johnson City died Sunday, January 28, 2007 in the North Side Hospital. Mrs. Babb was a native of Detroit, Michigan and had lived most of her life in Johnson City. She was a daughter of the late William R. and Gladys Goodman Miller. Mrs. Babb retired from the finishing department with twenty-five years of service with Gordon?s-Thomasville Furniture Co. She was a member of the Day of Deliverance Church in Johnson City. Mrs. Babb is preceded in death by: her parents; two brothers, Walter McKarriger and William J. Miller; one sister, Debbra Miller. Survivors include; her husband, Dayton E. Babb, Jr. of the home; four sons, Eddie Baker, Ricky Babb and Kenneth Babb, all of Johnson City, Edward Babb of Washington, D.C.; seven daughters, Penny Baker, Violet Wilson, Tammy Wilson, Sheila Baker, and Mary Babb, all of Johnson City, Marybeth Baker of Erwin, TN and Eloise Babb of Jonesborough; one sister, Gladys 'Tiny' McCallister of Johnson City; eight grandchildren, Yolanda Bellamy, Kinberly Douthat, Dusty Miller, Casey Baker, Jeremy Wilson, Tanya Miller, Stephanie Babb, and Emily Babb; four great grandchildren, Micah 'Turtle' Bellamy, Izzaih 'Izzy' Roark, Malachi 'Macho Man' Aleman and Madison Aleman; several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Rosa P. Babb will be conducted at 8 PM Thursday, February 1, 2007 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Ricky Babb and Rev. Linda Diane Babb will officiate. Music will be by Betty Baker, Teresa Wallin and Mary Babb, soloist. The committal service will be conducted at 10 AM Friday in the Washington County Memory Gardens. Everyone will meet at Morris-Baker at 9:30 AM Friday to go to the cemetery in procession. Active pallbearers will be Dayton E. Babb, Mark Harris, Kenneth Babb, William Bellamy, Aaron Collins, Carl W. Miller, Wayne Boggs and Don Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers will be Junior Hale, Dusty Miller, Casey Baker, and Jeremy Wilson. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 6 to 8 PM Thursday prior to the service. The Babb family would like to express their appreciation to the nursing staff in 300,400,700, and ICU at North Side Hospital for their care and concern of Mrs. Babb.
