Ruby Elnora Knipp

Elnora Neas Knipp, 91, formerly of 400 N. Boone Street, Johnson City died Tuesday, August 9, 2005 in the Asbury Center, Johnson City. Mrs. Knipp was a native of Greene County and had lived in Johnson City since 1956. She was a daughter of the late Tubal Cain and Odessa Davis Neas. She was a homemaker and a charter member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church. Mrs. Knipp is preceded in death by her husband, Virgil L. Knipp, in January 1998, four sisters, and six brothers. Survivors include: two daughters and a son-in-law, Janice Knipp , Barbara and Kenneth Diehl, all of Johnson City; two sisters, Ina Pearl Wyatt, of Newport, and Hertha Lee Duggins, of Greeneville; one brother and sister-in-law, Herbert and Audeane Neas, of Greeneville; three grandchildren and their spouses, Kathy and Mickey Leonard, of Johnson City, Steve and Regina Diehl, of Gray, and Aimee and Luke Range, of Alpharetta, GA; and three great grandchildren, Michael Leonard, Colton Leonard and Makendra Diehl. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Elnora Neas Knipp will be conducted at 11 AM Saturday, August 13, 2005 at Our Saviour Lutheran Church. Pastor Jim Nipper will officiate. Mrs. Knipp will be taken to the church at 10 AM Saturday to lie in state. The service of interment will be conducted at 2:30 PM Saturday in the St. James Lutheran Church Cemetery in Greene County. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 2:25 PM. Active pallbearers will be Nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be James Chandler, Nat King, Edwin Greninger, Joe Mattson, Harold Markstrom, David Herting, Frank Cunningham, John Stafford, Otto Zinser, and the Staff of Asbury Center. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 to 8 PM in the Morris-Baker Funeral Home.
