Ruby Hull Hurst

Ruby Hull Hurst, 98, formerly of 108 Terrace Court, Johnson City, died Sunday, November 26, 2006 at the Tacoma-Adventist Hospital, Greeneville and was a resident of the John M. Reed Nursing Home in Limestone. She was a native of Rigley, Kentucky, daughter of the late John T. and Eva Fraley Adkins. Ruby had lived in Las Vegas, Nevada for twenty years and the remainder of her life in Johnson City. She was a homemaker and had worked in the Las Vegas most entertainment community as a seamstress, she had worked with many celebrities counted all as friends. She was a member of the Central Baptist Church, and the Memorial National Association of Retired Federal Employees Chapter 324, the Johnson City VFW #2108 and was an honorary lifetime member of the I.A.T.S.E. Ruby was a gracious hostess and an elegant lady who never met a stranger and loved to entertain. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, H.H. Hull, Sr. and her second husband, Ezra Hurst, a son, a daughter, three sisters and three brothers. Survivors include: two sons, William E. Hull of Las Vegas, NV and Noel T. Hull of Reno, NV; three daughters, Louise Atwood of Las Vegas, NV, Kay Winterroth of Summerville, SC and Dianne Bannerman of Las Vegas, NV; a sister, Reda Rhea of Greeneville; 14 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. in the North Chapel of the Morris - Baker Funeral Home under the direction of her nephew Peter Speropulos, Jr. and Pastor Scott Taylor. Ambers Wilson, Jr. will provide special music. A committal service will be conducted following the service in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. until time of service at two. Active pallbearers will be: David Ledford, Keith Honeycutt, Scott Winterroth, Thomas Alan Winterroth, Bobby Dale Winterroth and Steven Cowart. Honorary pallbearers will be: Charles Aiken, Dwight Allman, Max Coats, Harold Phillips, R. B. Treadway, Harold Burnette and Wayne Robertson. Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to the United Way of Johnson City-Washington County, 926 W. Oakland Avenue, Johnson City, TN 37601.
