Shirley Widener Shell, age 48, of 114 Hilo Drive, died Sunday, November 20, 2005, at Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the daughter of the late Mildred Curtis and Oscar Samuel Widener. She was formerly employed by Empire Furniture and more recently by Harris-Tarkett. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Shell was preceded in death by a brother Wiley 'Rusty' Widener and a granddaughter. Mrs. Shell was a committee member of Boy Scout Troop 231 at Johnson City/Washington County Boys and Girls Club. She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Gary Lynn Shell; two sons, Nick and James Shell of Johnson City; one grandson and three granddaughters. Funeral services for Mrs. Shell will be held Tuesday, November 22nd, at 8:00 PM in Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. Rev. Lenny Smith and Rev. Steve Guinn will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday. Wednesday at 10:30 AM family and friends will meet at the funeral home to go in procession to Monte Vista for an 11:00 AM graveside service and burial. Pallbearers will be Lawrence Shell, Ronnie Shell, Brad Teague, Johnnie Chandler, Robert Arrowood, Kirk Taylor, Charles Buchanan and Teddy Main.
