Teresa Lynn Grindstaff

Mrs. Teresa Lynn Grindstaff, 59, 612 Spruce Street, Johnson City, passed away Monday February 28, 2011 in the Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. Grindstaff was a lifelong resident of Johnson City. She was the daughter of the late Joe C. Jones and Iva Rose Broyles Jones. In addition to her parents one sister, Betty Harrison also preceded her in death. Mrs. Grindstaff was disabled from the Johnson City Police Department after nineteen years of service. She was a member of the Fountain of Life Bible Church. Survivors include: her loving husband of fifteen years, Larry S. Grindstaff of the home, two sons, Brian S. Toney and Steven L. Toney and his wife Tonya; two sisters, Nancy Godsey and Connie Lewis; two grandsons, Jake Toney and Zackary Toney; one granddaughter, Sidney Page Oliver; several nieces. The funeral service for Mrs. Teresa Lynn Grindstaff will be conducted at 8 PM Thursday March 3, 2011 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Dr. Vic Young will officiate. John Humphreys will provide music. The entombment service will be conducted at 10 AM Friday in the Washington County Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be: Chief John Lowry, Joe McHenry, Larry Grindstaff, Tommy Hall, Jack Shipley and Timmy Dugger. Minister, family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 9:30 AM Friday to go in procession. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday prior to the service.
