Theresa Margaret Battaglia

Theresa 'Teddy'? Battaglia, 92, of Johnson City passed away Thursday, December 24, 2009 in the Johnson City Medical Center. Miss Battaglia was a native of Worcester, Massachusetts and had lived in Johnson City for twenty-two years. She was a daughter of the late Anthony and Christina Bonanno Battaglia. Miss Battaglia started working for Woolworths in New York City when she was twelve years old telling them she was sixteen. It was the only company she worked for. She retired in 1981 with fifty-two years of service as an assistant buyer. She was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church and served in the CCW. She is preceded in death by: her parents; a three year old brother, Joseph Battaglia and a brother, Salvatore Battaglia; a brother-in-law, Harold T. Moon; and a nephew, Robert Battaglia. Survivors include: one sister, Monica M. Moon of Johnson City; a sister-in-law, Carmalita Battaglia of East Hanover, NJ; her best friend, Connie Basso Bell of Nutley, NJ, and special friends David and Becky Hamilos; three nieces, Patricia Hall and Barbara Gray of Jonesborough, and Sandra Dubinsky of Freemont, CA; three nephews, Anthony Battaglia of Mint Hill, NJ, Harold T. Moon of Pittsfield, Mass. and Thomas Moon of Sayreville, NJ; numerous great nieces, great nephews, and beloved cousins also survive. A funeral mass for Theresa 'Teddy'? Battaglia will be conducted at 11 AM Monday, December 28, 2009 in the St. Marys Catholic Church. Father Anietie Akata will officiate. Interment will follow in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Harold Moon, Thomas Moon, Christopher Rice, Eric Rice, Brian Gray, Brad Gray, and Alex Moon. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Gray, Johnny Hall and David Hamilos. The family will receive friends at Morris-Baker from 6 to 8 PM Sunday, December 27, 2009.
