Thomas C. Tommy Cannon

Thomas C. ?Tommy' Cannon, 87, of Johnson City died Thursday, May 26, 2016 at the Erwin Center on Aging and Health. He was a native of Boone, NC, son of the late Benjamin and Nina Belle Hodge Cannon. Tommy was a retired heating and air conditioning service owner. He was of Baptist faith. Tommy was a great outdoorsman. He loved fishing, hunting and hiking. In addition to his parents, three brothers, Charlie, Ben Jr. and Bill Cannon; a sister, Lucille Cannon and a granddaughter, Jayla, preceded him in death. Survivors include: four sons and two daughters-in-law, Perry and Debbie Cannon of Johnson City, Don Cannon of Bristol, Emory and Olwen Cannon of Pitman Center, Craig Cannon of Yardley, PA; a daughter, Betty Cannon of Pigeon Forge; a sister and brother-in-law, Lucy Ann and Jimmy Yarber of Bristol; a brother, Jack Cannon of Missouri; six grandchildren; several great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:45pm at Mountain Home National Cemetery under the direction of Rev. Kevin Laws. The Boone Dam VFW and the Tennessee National Guard will accord military honors. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
