Trula Belle Martin

June 16, 1916 — July 18, 2011

Trula Shipley Martin, 95, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2011 at the Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City. She was a resident of the Appalachian Village. She was a devoted Mother , Grandmother and housewife who enjoyed gardening and traveling. Her love for her family will never be forgotten and can never be replaced. She worked in her church at the Piney Flats First Baptist Church and enjoyed the fellowship with the members of her Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her parents David Shipley and Matilda Anderson Shipley. She was also preceded by her husband Cecil Martin, brothers, Edward Shipley, Dee Shipley and Herbert Shipley, sisters, Jamie Isley, Sara Elizabeth Bays, Ella Mae Sells and Verna Catherine Shipley. Survivors include; two sons, Jimmy 'Dan'? Martin and his wife Katherine, Bobby Allen Martin and his wife Judy; Grandchildren, Sherri Phillippi, Scott Martin, Amy Raines and Alison Bryan; Great Grandchildren, Samantha Greenway, Stacie Phillippi, Chloe and Braden Bryan, Sarah and Emma Martin; Great great Grandchild, Mason Greenway; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 pm Wednesday, July 20, 2011 from the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Dr. Allen Davis and Rev. Reed Mullins will officiate. Burial services will be held at the Monte Vista Memorial Park at 10:00 am Thursday. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home for a procession to the cemetery at 9:45 am Thursday. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Wednesday.
