Vera Lee Mills Jones

Mrs. Vera Lee Mills Jones, age 70 of Gray, passed away Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at her residence. Mrs. Jones was the daughter of the late Earie Morton Mills and Gayola Marie Elam Mills. In addition to her parents, one daughter, Angela Kay Jones Lawson, preceded her in death. She was a native of Lenarue, Kentucky Mrs. Jones was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Church. Survivors include her loving husband of fifty-three years, John L. Jones of the home; one son, Dave Jones and his wife Doris of Johnson City; four sisters, Willa Dean Hicks and her husband Ron of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Pat Ray and her husband Bill of Southgate, Michigan, Kathy Balltrip and her husband Ewell of Somerset, Kentucky and Kay Chappell and her husband Virgle of Edmond, Oklahoma; two brothers, Aaron Mills and his wife Nancy of Gulston, Kentucky and Johnny Mills and his wife Lisa of Versailles, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Sasha Stewart and her husband Zack of Anchorage, Alaska and Keith Jones of Johnson City; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Mrs. Vera Lee Mills Jones will be conducted at 7 PM Friday, May 11, 2012, in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Pastor Richard Hilton will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Friday prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Wellmont Hospice, 280 Steeles Road, Bristol, Tn. 37620.
