Violet Elzira Harmon

Violet ?Elzira' Harmon, 90, of Piney Flats, died Monday, September 7, 2015 in the Appalachian Christian Village. Mrs. Harmon was born in Bluff City and had lived in Piney Flats all of her life. She was a daughter of the late Joseph ?Jody' and Belle Nickles Morrell. Mrs. Harmon was employed at Tennessee Eastman and North Electric. She was a charter member of Piney Flats Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Carrie Wishon, Sally Morrell, Nellie Wishon, Verna Vance, Hattie McGhee, and Grace Fillers; and her brother, J. W. Morrell. Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Elvie ?L.V.' Harmon; one brother, Wiley Gene Morrell of Kingsport, TN; and several nieces and nephews. A visitation is scheduled for 6 pm to 7 pm Thursday, September 10, 2015 in the Morris-Baker Oak Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 7 pm Thursday in the chapel under the direction of Dr. Allen Davis. A committal service is scheduled for 11 am Friday, September 11, 2015 in the Morning View Cemetery. Family and friends are requested to meet at Morris-Baker by 10:15 am Friday to go in procession to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. A special thank you is extended to the management and staff of Appalachian Christian Village for their care and kindness.
