Virginia Bawgus

Virginia Rowland Bawgus, 90, of 923 Piney Grove Avenue, Johnson City, died Sunday, April 23, 2006 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native of Newport, daughter of the late Charles 'Jake' Rowland and Harriett Hagan Rowland Cook. Mrs. Bawgus was a retired homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd William Bawgus in 1982, also five sisters and three brothers. She was last surviving child of her family. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Hughes of Cape Coral, Florida and Sue Arnold of Gray; eight grandchildren, Lloyd Hughes of Harriman, Gail Swartz of Jonesborough, Joey Hughes of Harriman, Billy Jack Hughes of Piney Flats, Eddie Hughes, Linda Musick and Scotty Hughes all of Johnson City and Lorie Arnold Horton of Kingsport; eleven great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, April 27, 2006 at 8:00 p.m. in the South Chapel of the Morris - Baker Funeral Home under the direction of Pastor Bill Burrows. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until time of service at eight. A committal service will be conducted on Friday, April 28, 2006 at the Eden?s Methodist Church Cemtery at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home to go in procession at 10:15 a.m.
