Virginia G. Meadows

Virginia G. Meadows, 90, of 2404 Hilton Lane, Johnson City, died Wednesday, January 11, 2006, in the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native of Warren County, TN, and had lived in Johnson City since 1964. Mrs. Meadows was the co-owner of Meadows Construction Company. She was a daughter of the late, J.F. and Stella Webb Green. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George H. Meadows, in 1984. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Aubrey, Lloyd, Ewin and Hoyte Green; and one sister, Mildred Smith. Mrs. Meadows was a member of Central Church of Christ. Survivors include: two sisters, Monice G. McGiboney, of Rock Island, TN, and Maurine Rogers, of Hermitage, TN; several nieces and nephews; and a very special nephew, Jeffrey McGiboney, of Herndon, VA. A funeral service will be conducted at 8:00 PM Friday from the Central Church of Christ in Johnson City, TN. Mr. Tim Hall, Minister, will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Friday at the church. Graveside services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Saturday in the Mountain View Cemetery in McMinnville, TN. The family will receive friends at the High Funeral Home in McMinnville, TN, from 1:00 until 3:00 PM Saturday. The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions be made to Central Church of Christ, 2722 E. Oakland Avenue, Johnson City, TN 37601; or to Central Church of Christ, Retirement Building Fund, 101 E. Morford St., McMinnville, TN 37110.
