Virginia L. Hathaway

May 18, 1930 — April 6, 2005

Virginia L. Hathaway, 74, of 820 Johnson Avenue, died at her residence April 6, 2005, following an illness. A native of Washington County, she had lived most of her life here and was a daughter of the late Robert F. and Ida Casteel Henson. Mrs. Hathaway was a homemaker and had worked for the E.T.S.U. grill and ITT North Electric. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Mark Hathaway; a brother, Charles D. Henson; and a sister, Geneva Estep. Survivors include: her husband, Ronda E. Hathaway, of the home; two sons: Michael (& Teresa) Hathaway and Douglas (& Lori) Hathaway, all of Johnson City; a daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Dennis Lykowski, Berlin Heights, OH; six grandchildren, Becky Hathaway, Mike Hathaway Jr., both of Johnson City, Billy Whittimore, VA, Renee Whittimore, Florida, Raymond Anderson, Jonesborough, and Jessie Cardwell, of Johnson City; five great grandchildren; special friends, Mr. & Mrs. Carroll Charles and family, Arthur Denton; and several nephews and nieces. A funeral service is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. Sunday, April 10, 2005, in the South Chapel of the Morris-Baker Funeral Home, under the direction of Rev. Mack Houston and Rev. George Higgins. Special music by Queenie Wheeler and Al Dugger. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until time of service at eight. A committal service will be held on Monday, April 11, 2005, at the U.S. National Cemetery at Mountain Home at 1:00 p.m. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery at 12:25 p.m. Active pallbearers will be Carroll Charles, Arthur Denton, Terry Sparks, Jimmy Hathaway, Clyde Stevens, Charles Palmer, George Hall and Ray Anderson. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Whittimore Jr. and Dennis Lykowski. The family wishes to express a special Thank You to the Johnson City Medical Center Hospice and Home Health and especially to Sarah, Jackie, Doretha and Carrol Charles.
