Virginia Walker Wiley

Virginia Walker Wiley, 98, of 1110 North Roan Street, Johnson City died Friday, June 29, 2007 in the Lakebridge Health Care Center. Mrs. Wiley was a native of Chattanooga, TN and had lived in Johnson City since she was nine years of age. She was a daughter of the late Charles W. and Rachel Ellen Fowler Walker. Mrs. Walker retired from the accounting department of WJHL-TV with more then thirty years of service. She was the oldest member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church. She is preceded in death by : her parents; her husband, William Arthur Wiley, Sr. in 1948; a grandson, Charles L. Wiley; a son-in-law, Sam L. Sells, II ;two brothers and one sister. Survivors include: a daughter, Ellen Wiley Sells of Johnson City; a son Dr. William A. Wiley, Jr. and wife Patricia Denman Wiley of Johnson City; a sister, Myra Walker Williams of Johnson City; five grandchildren : nine great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. A graveside funeral service for Virginia Walker Wiley will be conducted at 3 PM Sunday, July 1, 2007 in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Dr. Jim Richter will officiate. Everyone will meet at the cemetery. Friends may visit the family at the homes of the son or daughter. The family request no flowers but memorials be sent to your favorite charity or church.
