Wade Canipe

Wade Canipe, 68, 138 Pond Hill Road, Jonesborough, died Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Canipe was a Bakersville, NC native and had lived in Jonesborough for several years. He was a son of the late Ernest and Mae Roark Canipe. Mr. Canipe was preceded in death by his first wife, Francis Scott Canipe. He was a retired contractor. Mr. Canipe was a member of Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church and the Johnson City Seniors Center. He was a US Navy veteran. Survivors include his wife, Carole Waller Canipe; one son, Ernest Canipe, Gray; one daughter, Margie Jenkins, Jonesborough; granddaughter, Brittany Nicole Canipe, Jonesborough; three sisters, Patricia Relihah, Pauline Wigglesworth and Margie Morrill all of MD; step-son, Tim Hayes, Jonesborough; one niece, Amy Marie Relihah, and one nephew, Kevin Allen, Zurich, Switzerland. A funeral service for Mr. Canipe will be conducted at 8 PM Friday, June 22, 2007 from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. Dr. Gene Lasley and Reverend Jody Jenkins will officiate. Military graveside services will be held at 10 AM Saturday at Washington County Memory Gardens. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 9:30 AM and travel in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Richard Henley, Randy Henley, Bert Martin, Jim Martin, Larry Russell and Ted Cole. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Edwards, Bob Bryant, Gary Seaman and Jim McGee. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday at the funeral home and at other times at the residence.
