Wesley Dean Williams

August 24, 1946 — September 25, 2007

Wesley Dean Williams, 61, of 935 Hopson Street, Johnson City went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at his residence after a brave battle with cancer. Mr. Williams was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City. He was a son of the late Elmer Ray and Nellie Hodge Williams. Mr. Williams was a Army veteran and a member of the Cherokee Mountain Missionary Baptist Church. He was a co-founder,co-owner and lifelong employee of the Williams Brothers Coal and Trucking Company. Mr. Williams is preceded in death by: his parents; five brothers, Lester Williams, Buford Williams, Wayne Williams, Jimmy Ray Williams, Bobby Williams; and one sister, Georgia Lee Baker. Survivors include: his wife, Loretta Osborne Williams of the home; one son, Craig Williams of Johnson City; one daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Daniel Guy of Johnson City; one brother and sister-in-law, Dewey and Marie Williams of Johnson City; two sisters and brother-in-law, Betty Brown of Johnson City and Linda and Robert Sweeney of International Falls, MN; three grandsons, Robert Williams, Logan Williams and Andrew Williams, all of Bristol, TN; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Wesley D. Williams will be conducted at 8 PM Thursday, September 27, 2007 in the Morris-Baker-South Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Whaley officiating. The graveside service will be conducted at 11 AM Friday in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Everyone will meet at Morris-Baker at 10:30 AM Friday to go in procession to the cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be his church family from Cherokee Mountain Missionary Baptist Church. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 6 to 8 PM Thursday prior to the service.
