William Bill Greer

William Brown Greer, 79, Johnson City, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Lakebridge Health Care Center. Born in Buladean, NC to the late Juanita Street Ward and Robert Greer, he lived most of his life in Johnson City, TN. William was a Marine and the former owner of All Seasons Insulation. He was also an avid ham radio operator for many years; his call sign was KA4NDV. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Frank and Jim Greer. He is survived by his loving wife, Diane Greer of Johnson City; his two daughters, of whom he was very proud, Theresa Greer of Johnson City and Christy Fritz of Bethlehem, PA; two grandsons, Jacob and Matthew Fritz; sister, Judy Barnett and her husband Alan Barnett; sisters-in-law, Linda Greer and Crystal Greer; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family. William was a longtime member of Southside Baptist Church where he was a Deacon Emeritus. He loved his church family. The family of William Greer will receive friends from 1 pm to 2 pm Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Southside Baptist Church, 1928 Wheeler St., Johnson City, TN 37604. A Celebration of Life ceremony will follow at 2 pm Saturday under the direction of Pastor William Lunsford. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Southside Baptist Church.
