William C. 'Buddy' Price, age 81, 3902 Sage Drive, Johnson City, passed away, Friday, April 8, 2005, at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native and life long resident of Washington County and a son of the late Joseph Preston and Wilma Bell Price. Mr. Price was a graduate of Science Hill High School and Milligan College. He was the former owner of Watauga Oil Company and a distributor for Mobil Oil Products. Mr. Price was a member of First Christian Church, Johnson City, where he was active in the Mr. and Mrs. Sunday School Class and the men?s prayer group. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Johnson City Country Club. He spent many years as a football and basketball official for TSSAA. Mr. Price was a corporate member of the Mountain States Health Alliance. Survivors include: his wife of fifty-one years, Billie Gammon Price, of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Sandy Price Cole and Kevin Donald Cole, Johnson City; one son and daughter-in-law, Randolph Robin Price and Lindy Hinson Price, Houston, TX; one brother, Joseph Preston Price, Johnson City; and seven grandchildren, Caitlin Leigh Cole, Austin Kevin Cole, Matthew William Price, Jeffrey Randolph Price, Peyton Joshua Price, Preston Daniel Price and Hannah Louise Price. The family expresses their sincere gratitude to Dr. Robert Allen for his wonderful care and genuine concern for Buddy and our family during this time. Funeral services for Mr. Price will be conducted at 4:00 PM Sunday at First Christian Church. Dr. Tim Wallingford, Senior Minister of First Christian Church, will officiate. Pallbearers will be Curtis Akard, Mike Voitlein, Bobby Britt, Ernie Walker, Charlie McCoy, Dr. Bill Hinson, Gene Wigginton and Dwayne Cross. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Mr. and Mrs. Sunday School Class and members of the men?s prayer group of First Christian Church. Following the funeral service, family and friends will proceed to Monte Vista Memorial Park for graveside services. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Saturday, April 9th, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home.
