William Chester Trent, Sr.

William 'Chester'? Trent, Sr., died Monday, August 6, 2007 at Appalachian Christian Village. Mr. Trent was a Sullivan County native and had lived most of his life in Washington County. He was a son of the late Charles R. and Virgie Smith Trent. Mr. Trent was preceded in death by his wife, Oma L. Trent, one son, Roy M. Trent, one brother, Howard Trent and one sister, Pauline Humphreys. He was a retired carpenter. Mr. Trent was a member of Hawthorne Church of the Brethren. Survivors include two sons, Robert G. Trent and his wife, Margie, Johnson City and William 'Buck'? Trent and his wife Jean, Johnson City; one daughter, Virginia R. Lane, Piney Flats; one daughter-in-law, Norma Trent, Johnson City; one brother, Mitchell Trent, Okla; nine grandchildren, Danny Trent and his wife, Pam, Jeff Lane, Russell Lane and his wife, Betty, Laura Smith and her husband, Layton, Bill Trent and his wife, Tina, Tom Trent and his wife, Angie, Beth Trent, David Ford and his wife, Lois and Darlene Johnson and her husband Russell; five great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service for Mr. Trent will be conducted at 8 PM Wednesday, August 8, 2007 from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. Rev. Hollace Ford and Clinton Andrews, minister, will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 10 AM Thursday at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 9:30 AM and travel in procession to the cemetery. Grandsons will serve as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles White, Bruce Bealer, Vernon Humphreys and Bryan McKinney. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the Brick Christian Church, 815 Watauga Road, Watauga, TN 37694.
