William Hal Youngblood, Jr.

Hal Youngblood, 77, of 801 Forest Ave., Johnson City, died Wednessday, January 24, 2007 in the Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Youngblood was a native of Johnson City but lived in Michigan most of his life. He had lived in New York City for 10 years and had moved back to Johnson City in 1995. He was a son of the late William Hal Youngblood, Sr. and Lillian Queener Youngblood. Hal was a graduate of ETSU and received his Master?s Degree from the University of Virginia. Hal was an Executive with WJR Radio in Detroit, MI. Mr. Youngblood began his career as the first director of WJHL, after 5 years in the Airforce. His career took him to Buffalo, Detroit and New York as an on air personality and producer. He was also an actor and playwright. He was a veteran of the U.S. Airforce and Marines. He was of the Episcopalian faith. Survivors include his Life Partner, Nicholas Calanni of Johnson City and several cousins. A Memorial service will be conducted at the Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel at 2:00 PM on Saturday February 3, 2007.
