Mr. Willie Carmack Adams, 78, of Johnson City, passed away Friday, June 3, 2016, at Holston Manor in Kingsport. Willie was born in Austin Springs. He was a son of the late Johnny Adams and Velma Lawson Adams Brown. Willie was a retired firefighter with over thirty years of service, having served in the Air Force at the Charleston Naval Shipyard in Charleston, SC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Catherine Nesmith; one son, Robert E. Adams; one brother, Warren Brown; one sister, Melody Hicks. Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Wendy Adams; son, Willie Adams, Jr.; two daughters, Joy Adams Larson and her husband Patrick R. Larson, Sr., and Tracie Adams Risheberger and her husband Jack W. Risheberger; two sisters, Jean Sartain and Penny Black; three brothers, Joe Adams, Johnny Adams and Gary Brown; six grandchildren, Misty Renee Branch, Nicholas Brumfield, Donna Larson Huffaker and her husband James, Patrick R. Larson, Jr., Ali Jaque Risheberger, and Catherine Adams Green; nine great grandchildren; and many friends. The family of Mr. Willie Carmack Adams will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Tuesday, June 7, 2016, in the Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 7 PM with Mr. Joseph Stitt providing the eulogy. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 10:45 AM Wednesday, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Patrick R. Larson, Jr., Willie C. Adams, Jr., James Huffaker, Pat Larson, Sr., Eric Hodges and Joe Adams. The Boone Dam Post # 4933 will accord military honors. Family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 10 AM Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
