Willie Patton Corby

Willie 'Pat'? Corby, 56, of Johnson City, died Saturday, September 14, 2013 at his home. He was a lifelong resident of Johnson City and son of the late Linn Patton Corby and Helen Lucille Porter Corby. Pat worked as a landscaper and attended the Vineyard of Yahweh Church. He was a lifetime member of the Appalachian Whitetail Association, and at one time, served as treasurer. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge. Pat will be remembered as a devout Christian and a dedicated hunter. In addition to his parents, Pat was preceded in death by: one brother, Gale Linn Corby; one nephew, Jason Carr; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is survived by: his 'sugar dumplins of 18 years,'? Sheila Bradshaw, of the home; one son, Galen Corby, and his wife Charlotte, of Johnson City; three grandchildren, Alison Faith Corby, and her boyfriend Jake, Alexander Patton Corby, and Dorian Von Corby; three sisters, Debbie Corby of Knoxville, Linda Corby Carr of South Carolina, and Donnie Corby of Johnson City; several nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews; and special pets Taz and Lucky. The family would like to thank Pats nurses, Candace and Nonie, for their care and support. In addition, a special thanks is extended to Pats devoted best friends, Dennis and Marie Hughes. The funeral service for Mr. Pat Corby will be conducted at 10:00 AM Tuesday, September 17, 2013, in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Pastor Matthew Miller will officiate. The committal service will follow in the Philadelphia Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Galen Corby, Dennis Hughes, Tony Bennett, Jake Tittle, Roger Norton, and Steve Brabson. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, September 16, 2013 at Morris-Baker Funeral Home.
