Zebbie Tipton Brandt

April 6, 1955 — June 9, 2014

Zebbie Tipton Brandt, 59, Johnson City, died unexpectedly Monday, June 9, 2014 while vacationing in Honduras. Zebbie was born April 6, 1955 in Erwin, TN to George and Jessie Tipton. She received a BS degree in social work from ETSU and her masters degree from The University of Tennessee. Zebbie worked for Frontier Health prior to her current position with the Veterans Administration, Mountain Home, TN. Zebbie was an active member of Poplar Ridge Christian Church in Piney Flats and belonged to the Willing Workers Sunday School class. Zebbie loved being outside and around water, whether on a boat fishing, jet skiing, or scuba diving. She loved helping people and was very active with serving others through the Loaves and Fishes ministry. Her pride and joy were her two granddaughters. She was preceded in death by: her father, George; son, Jason Chad Campbell; and brother, Donald Tipton. Survivors include: her loving husband, Fred Brandt, of the home; two sons, Josh Campbell, and his wife Jessica, Boones Creek, and Justin Campbell, and his wife Lura, Jonesborough; mother, Jessie Tipton, Erwin; three brothers, Danny Tipton, and his wife Judy, Flint, MI, Johnny Tipton, and his wife Sue, Nashville, and George Tipton, and his wife Carol, Abingdon, VA; one sister, Elaine Banner, and her husband Gerald, Erwin; one step-son, Stephen Brandt, Hamilton, Montana, and his wife Deana; two step-daughters, Stacey Nadeau, and her husband Rick, Vienna, VA, and Rose Brandt, Tysons Corner, VA; two grandchildren, Layla and Leighanah Campbell; and six step-grandchildren, Jason, Ben, and Megan Nadeau, Johnathon Brandt, Austin Minnick, and Channing Blaylock. The family of Zebbie Brandt will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM, Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Morris-Baker. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Mr. Roland Whittemore, Minister, will officiate. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Jimmy Dempsey Scholarship Fund, c/o Poplar Ridge Christian Church, 206 Poplar Ridge Circle Rd., Piney Flats, TN 37686.
