Adgie Donald Tipton

Adgie 'Donald'? Tipton, 72, of Johnson City, died Saturday, May 31, 2014 at the Lakebridge Health Care Center. He was a native of Burnsville, North Carolina, son of the late Charlie and Marie Cousins Mitchell. Donald was a retired security guard. He had served in the U. S. Navy. In addition to his parents, two brothers, Charles and James Tipton, preceded him in death. Survivors include: his wife, Barbara Joanne Taylor Tipton, Johnson City; three sisters, Wilma Holland and her husband Leon of Piney Flats, Bessie McAllister of Johnson City, Marie Hughes of Jonesborough; a brother, Bud Tipton and his wife, Carolyn of Piney Flats; a step-daughter, Renee Coles and her husband, Geary of Johnson City; several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at the Monte Vista Memorial Park at 11:00 am under the direction of Pastor Lon Tobin. The U. S. Navy will accord military honors. Family and friends are asked to assemble by 10:45 am at the cemetery.
