Angela “Angie” Barnes McClellan, age 69, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Johnson City Medical Center.

Born in 1957 to David and Emily Barnes McClellan, Angie was a beloved daughter, sister, and friend whose kind heart and vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She lived with a deep sense of compassion, creativity, and joy that made her truly unforgettable.

Her early years in Johnson City included happy times serving in the Girl Scouts, singing in the choirs at Science Hill High School and Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church, and working at the Majestic Theater. She also spent many treasured weekends with her sisters playing at Rocky Mount State Historic Site.

Angie spent several years living in Florida, where she worked as an accountant. While there, she developed a love for NASA’s Space Shuttle program and delighted in watching as many launches as possible. She was fascinated by space exploration and never lost her sense of wonder and imagination.

Known for her free spirit and generous nature, Angie had a special connection with animals and was an avid animal lover throughout her life. She was creative, imaginative, and someone who genuinely enjoyed life and the people around her. Her family and friends knew her as a caring soul who was always willing to help anyone in need.

In later years, Angie returned to Tennessee to lovingly help care for her mother, demonstrating the devotion and selflessness that defined so much of her life.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sisters, Stephanie (Robert) Houk and Emily (Jim) Wozniak; her nephew, David Wozniak; and her cousin, George Bowers, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

A private memorial service for Angie will be held at Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church in Johnson City. The service will be officiated by the Rev. Beth Sullivan.
