Anna Louise Glass, 76, of Johnson City, Tennessee, and formerly of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away after a lengthy battle with dementia.
Anna was born on August 6, 1949, in Washington County, Tennessee, to the late Buddy and Nellie Johnson Loudy. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend who will be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for her family.
Anna was a home health nurse for many years, but her passion for children led her back to Children’s First Daycare Center, where she worked for many years until her retirement. She adored children, both personally and professionally, and had a special gift for nurturing young lives. A talented author, Anna wrote two children’s books for her grandchildren and for the children at the daycare, leaving behind a meaningful and lasting legacy.
She spent many years in Baltimore, where she built a life and formed lasting friendships before eventually returning to her East Tennessee roots. She found joy in life’s simple moments—time spent with loved ones, sharing stories, and creating memories that will be cherished by those who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Danny Loudy; and her sister, Nancy Rush.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Donna and Tommy Mitchell and David Glass; her grandchildren, Trevor Mitchell, Valerie Glass, and Dillon Mitchell; her great-grandchildren, Grayson Mitchell and Addison Mitchell; her brothers, Buddy Loudy and Robert Loudy; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a thank you to a special friend at Lakebridge and all of the staff at NHC Healthcare for giving her the love, care, and compassion she deserved.
There will be a graveside service at 3:00 pm on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Hamlett-Dobson Memorial Park. Those attending are asked to please meet at the cemetery.
