Johnson City, TN

Anthony “Tony” Pavlik, a dedicated husband, loving father, and successful business owner, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2024, at his residence in Johnson City, TN, at the age of 85. Tony was born on November 10, 1938, in his hometown of Johnstown, NY, to the late Anthony and Louise Pavlik.

His marriage to Gretchen Pavlik spanned an incredible 61 years, filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. In addition to his wife, Gretchen, he is survived by: his son, Tony Pavlik; three daughters, Maryann (Eddie) Williams, Terrybeth Kolarick, and Catherine (Robert) Heath; and 14 grandchildren.

Anthony's faith was an integral part of his life, drawing him to the seminary in his youth and leading him to become a Benedictine Brother. While he eventually chose a different path, his time in the seminary deepened his faith and shaped his compassionate nature, which he carried with him throughout his life.

Tony proudly served in the U.S. Army military police for several years.  After his military service, he graduated from Florida State University and remained a diehard Seminoles fan throughout his life.

Tony’s journey through life was defined by his unwavering commitment to his family and his strong work ethic. His entrepreneurial spirit led he and his wife to venture out on their own, eventually establishing a successful printing company in Johnson City, TN.

Outside of work, Anthony found solace in nature and the serenity of fishing. As a member of a couple local fishing clubs, he spent countless hours on the water. His fishing adventures became cherished memories, shared with friends and loved ones.

Tony’s life will be celebrated by the family with an intimate, private Mass and graveside service.
