Bessie Dean Bacon

Bessie Dean Bacon, 86 of Johnson City, died Saturday, August 11, 2012 at the Asbury Place in Johnson City. She was a native of Washington County, daughter of the late Walter and Molly Wilson Baker. Bessie was a former employee of the James H. Quillen Veterans Affairs Medical Center. She was a member of the Lynnwood Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two children, Wayne and Linda; also six brothers and sisters. Survivors include: her husband Don Bacon of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law Roger Reed, SR and Sondra of Johnson City, Russell Reed and Mai Lee of Jonesborough, Harvey Reed and Lillian of Johnson City; a sister Evelyn Baker Hampton of Johnson City; thirteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, August 13, 2012 at the Morris - Baker Funeral Home. A funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 11:00 am in the North Chapel of the Morris '? Baker Funeral Home under the direction of Rev. Bob Edmonds. A committal service will be conducted following the funeral service at the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
