Betty R. Holtsclaw, 61, of 1701 Orlando Drive, Johnson City died Tuesday, June 16, 2009 in the Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. Holtsclaw was a native and life long resident of Johnson City and a daughter of the late Roy Lee and Ida Blevins Saults. She was a homemaker and attended the Church of God. Mrs. Holtsclaw will be remembered lovingly as an outgoing, outgiving person. She was a good neighbor, a friend to strangers and loved pretty flowers, four-wheelers and especially loved her family . Mrs. Holtsclaw was preceded in death by: her parents; one son Terry Holtsclaw; and two brothers, Earnest Harwood and Ronald Saults. Survivors include: her husband, James Smithpeters of the home; three sons, Michael Holtsclaw of Elizabethton, Scott Holtsclaw and Jamie Holtsclaw of Johnson City; two daughters, Jenna Stout and Vicky Campbell , both of Johnson City; twelve grandchildren; one great granddaughter; several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Betty R. Holtsclaw will be conducted at 8 PM Thursday, June 18, 2009 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Lonnie Keever,Evangelist will officiate. The graveside service will be conducted at 2 PM Friday in the Holtsclaw Cemetery in Carter County. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 1:50 PM Friday. The family will receive friends at Morris-Baker from 6 to 8 PM Thursday prior to the service.
