Betty Sue Hays

June 3, 1931 — April 6, 2022

Betty Sue Hays, 90, of Johnson City died Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at The Waters of Johnson City. She was a native of Nashville and moved to Johnson City at an early age, the daughter of the late C. Larkin and Martha Martin Trotter.
Betty Sue was a military wife and mother, living in many places but returned and settled in Johnson City. She was a librarian for the Johnson City Schools where she retired.
She was a member of the Westside Christian Church of Jonesborough.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Jimmie Hays in 1999; a daughter, Terry Lynn Hays and a sister, Martha Jane Trotter all preceded her in death.
Those left to cherish her memory are her two sons and two daughters-in-law, David Alan and Rebecca Hays and John Paul and Sherry Hays; six grandchildren, Bradly, Stephen, Heather, Stephanie (John), Gabrielle (Brad) and Dante; two great grandchildren, Jag and Knox.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Morris-Baker Funeral Home in the Maple Room. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 pm at the Washington Memory Gardens under the direction of John Wade. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery by 2:50 pm.
Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to Westside Christian Church, 1405 Persimmon Ridge Road, Jonesborough, TN 37659.
