Blair Hunter White

Blair Hunter White, age 81 of Johnson City, Tennessee passed away after a brief illness on June 7, 2026. He was born to the late Paul Byron and Frances McLaughen White on May 19, 1945 in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Blair graduated from Brainerd High School class of '63. He attended The Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Florida and graduated from The University of Tennessee Chattanooga. He achieved a Master of Fine Arts from East Tennessee State University. He was a very proud board member of The Southern Highlands Craft Guild. He was a gifted artist particularly in metalsmith and jewelry making.

Survived by his brother, James Patrick White, and sister, Katherine W. Hunt, niece, E. Blair (Kevin) Miller, nephew, J. Stefan (Jennifer) Hunt, as well as several great-nieces, nephews, other relatives, and special friends: Cruz Ortega, Kim Schneider and Kimball Sterling.

Blair will be laid to rest at Mountain Home National Cemetery with military honors at 3:00 pm on Monday, June 22, 2026, in the Historic Section. Those attending are asked to meet at the cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Southern Highland Craft Guild or the Washington County Johnson City Animal Shelter.
