Bonnie Kate Bishop

July 19, 1922 — April 25, 2008

Bonnie Bishop, 85, of 411 Hamilton Street, Johnson City, died Friday, April 25, 2008 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native of Unicoi County but had lived in Johnson City area most of her life. Bonnie was a daughter of the late Alvin and Lula Fletcher Orten. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Tyler L. Bishop, three sisters Dorothy Marshall, Charmie Hammett and Georgia Hall; four brothers, Blaine, Claude, Dan and Orlin Orten. Survivors include: a daughter, Judy Chandler of Johnson City; a son, Stanley Bishop of Johnson City; two brothers, Henry Orten of Johnson City and Thomas Orten of Kentucky; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.A funeral service is scheduled for Sunday, April 27, 2008 at 8:00 p.m. in the South Chapel of the Morris '' Baker Funeral Home, under the direction of Rev. Joe Chandler. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until time of service at eight. A committal service will be conducted on Monday, April 28, 2008 at the Monte Vista Memorial Park at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery.
