Carol Hudson, 84, of Johnson City passed away in her sleep on March 3, 2026. Born and raised in Ohio, she attended Capital University and graduated from Ohio Northern University in 1963 with a degree in pharmacy. She worked for decades in retail pharmacy.
She is predeceased by her husband Chuck, the love of her life, and high school sweetheart. Together, their wanderlust took them on an extraordinary journey through life - including three around-the-world cruises, visits to 92 countries across all seven continents, and expeditions to many of the world's great wonders. She was the architect of every adventure, planning each trip with care and enthusiasm across more than 50 years of travel together. Her favorite destination was Funchal, Madeira, with its glorious flower festival and basket toboggan rides.
She was a relentless reader, a spirited football fan, a ruthless card player, and an avid chocolate enthusiast. But much more than that, she was unquestionably devoted to her family. Indeed, the love, support, and dedication to her family was her greatest gift.
She is survived by her two beloved sons Matthew (Jennifer) of Tallahassee, FL and Michael (Christine) of South Berwick, ME as well as four grandchildren (Christopher, Kelsey, Charles, and Claire) and four great-grandchildren (Sophie, Lorelai, Wyatt, and Grace). Although an only child, she is also survived by her sister-in-law Bettie (David Foster) of Taos, NM. We would like to express our grateful appreciation to her devoted caretaker Macey Cole who provided much needed comfort to Carol in her last years.
