Charles Edward Hale, 75, 320 Fraser St., Many, LA, died Saturday, March 19, 2005, at his residence after an extended illness. He was a native of Piney Flats and had lived in Jonesborough for many years before retiring to Many in 1989. Mr. Hale was a retired Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He later enjoyed a second career as an insurance agent with Prudential Insurance. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Mona (Torbett) Hale; a sister, Gail Hale; and a brother, Eugene Hale. Survivors include his wife, Norma J. Hale of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles A. and Theresa L. Hale; two beloved granddaughters, Beth and Heather, all of Barksdale AFB, LA; a sister, Sara Boyer, Johnson City; two brothers, Arnold Hale, Piney Flats; and Roger Hale, Gray; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Charles Edward Hale will be Tuesday, March 22, 2005; at 8:00 PM in the North Chapel of Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Committal services will be held Wednesday at 10:00 AM at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Friends and family are asked to assemble at the cemetery by 9:50 AM.
