Christine Hammonds

Mary “Christine” Hammonds, 71, passed away in her sleep on August 22nd, 2019, into the hands of the Lord.
She was the widow of Mr. Lonnie Hammonds, to whom she was married until his death in 2002.
Born in Johnson City, Christine was the daughter of Hassie and Roy Conner of Gray, Tennessee. She went to Boones Creek High School. She worked as a caregiver for a number of years and then as a stay-at-home mother.
She was a member of Gravel Hill Baptist Church.
Christine is survived by: sons, Roscoe and David, of the home, and Chuck and his wife Gina, of Johnson City; two sisters, Barbara Baxley of Gray, and Donna and her husband Linnie Gilliam of Gray; numerous nieces and nephews; uncle, Charles Conner of Davenport, IA; and aunt, Helen Sheets of Ohio.
The family of Christine Hammonds will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, August 26, 2019, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Arden Taylor. A committal service will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, August 27, 2019, at East Tennessee Cemetery in Blountville. Friends and family are asked to gather at the graveside by 11:50 AM.
