Christopher Shane Overbey

Christopher Shane Overbey, 50, of Johnson City, passed away on February 14, 2023, At Bristol Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.

He was born on February 6, 1973, at Morristown-Hamblen Hospital to the late Tilford Overbey and Loretta Mae Smith Overbey. He was a lifelong resident of Rogersville prior to his sickness, which caused him to relocate for better care.

Chris was a graduate of Cherokee High School class of 1992, and he attended East Rogersville Baptist Church. He also attended Tunnell Hill Baptist Church, where he donated his time driving the church van to make sure everyone made it to service.

He enjoyed driving, making a career out of it as a long-haul truck driver. He held a lot of pride in his work, having followed in his fathers footsteps to get there.

He is survived by his sister, Sarah K Puckett; niece, Gena K Puckett; great niece, Izzie Mae Puckett; great nephew, Asher Christopher Puckett; dear friends, Judy Baker and Jim Parker; as well as several other special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
