Collins Sr. Garrie Allen

Garrie Allen Collins Sr., 50, of 112 E. Lakeview Dr., Johnson City, died Sunday, April 3, 2005, at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, son of the late William T. Collins Sr. and Mrs. Alice Oakes. Before retiring due to health, he owned his own aluminum siding company. Garrie was of the Holiness faith. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by an infant brother. Survivors include his wife, Cordelia Annie Collins of the home; his mother, Alice Collins; three sons, Garrie 'Cricket' Collins Jr., Ronald J. Collins and Kenneth Lee Collins; two brothers, James Collins and William T. Collins Jr., all of Johnson City; eight grandchildren; two special nieces, Buttons Ward and Billie Jean Ward; several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, in the Washington County Memory Gardens at 2:00 p.m. under the direction of Rev. Dewey Ward and Rev. Larry Campbell. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m., when the family and friends will go in procession to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Bo Collins, Ronald Collins, Cricket Collins, Kenneth Collins, Bobby Smallman and Thomas Wilson.
