David Edward Phillips, 37, 169 Patton May Road, Jonesborough, died Saturday, September 9, 2006 at his residence. Mr. Phillips was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County. He was a son of Orville Phillips and his wife, Donna, Johnson City and Tersia White Hill and her husband and David?s other father Ed L. Hill, Jonesborough. Mr. Phillips was a self-employed in construction. He was a Baptist. Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Tracy Phillips, Watauga; two daughters, Shawna Lynn Ray and Summar Dawn Phillips both of Watauga; one son, David Edward Phillips, Jr., Watauga; one sister, Sandra Lynn Clawson and her husband, Doug, Elizabethton; one granddaughter, Tonya Nychole Ray; half-brother, Robert Junior Phillips, Johnson City; step-brother, Charles Tucker, Greeneville; two step-sisters, Janie Hanson, Fort Campbell, KY and Lena Ratliff, Jonesborough and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service for Mr. Phillips will be conducted at 11 AM Thursday, September 14, 2006 from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. Reverend Bill Greer and Reverend Robert Reed will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be James Ray, Curtis Chase, Doug Clawson, Cody Broyles, Jacob Phillips and Alvin Trivette.
