Delbert Andrew Garland

Delbert Andrew Garland, 62, of 2717 S. Roan Street, Johnson City, died Monday, January 22, 2007 in the Veteran?s Affairs Medical Center at Mountain Home. He was a native of Johnson City and had lived most of his life there. He was a son of Agnes L. Garland Jones of Johnson City and the late Luther Ford Garland. Mr. Garland was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served in Vietnam. Survivors in addition to his mother include; one daughter, Christy Murray of Johnson City; two Granddaughters, Morgan Murray and Mallory Murray both of Johnson City; one sister, Wanda Tipton and her husband, Glen of Johnson City; three brothers, David Garland, Buck Garland and Kenneth Garland and his wife, Ruth all of Johnson City; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 PM Wednesday from the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Burial services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday from Mountain Home National Cemetery .Family and friends will meet at the cemetery for these services. Military Honors will be accorded at the graveside by the VFW Post # 3382 of Kingsport.. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 PM Wednesday.
