Obituary for Dennis D Hedrick

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dennis D Hedrick, 72, who left this world on June 17, 2026. Dennis was born on November 9, 1953, in Jellico, TN, and spent his later years in Johnson City, where he created countless memories with family and friends.

A proud Army veteran, Dennis dedicated his life to education, working at ETSU in physics labs. He was not just a man of science, but also a passionate fisherman and a guitar-playing enthusiast. His love for music and the great outdoors was infectious, and he often shared these passions with family members.

Dennis was a loving husband to Deana Hedrick and a devoted father to Jason Hedrick. He delighted in his role as a grandfather to four wonderful grandkids: Eric, Caleb, Tara, and Ethan, and he was a proud great-grandfather to six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law Rebecca Hedrick, along with his nephew Brian Hatfield and niece Amy Hatfield, both of whom he adored. He cherished each moment with his family.

Dennis was preceded in death by his son, Charlie Hedrick, mother Lucile Shepard Davis and his sister, Brenda Hatfield.

Friends and family will gather to celebrate Dennis's life with a committal service at Mt. Home National Cemetery with a time and date to be announced later. We invite everyone who knew him to come share stories and remember the good times.

Rest in peace, Dennis. You will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who were lucky enough to know you.
