Obituary for Doris Ellen Lane
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Doris Ellen Lane who left this world on March 17, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family, just a few days shy of her 88th birthday. Doris was born on March 22, 1938, in Clinchport, Virginia, and spent much of her life in Johnson City, Tennessee, where she became a incredible matriarch of her family. She was a proud member of the Free Will Baptist Faith.
Doris was a warm-hearted soul who dedicated her life to caring for her loved ones. Her passion for gardening brought beauty and joy, with her flowers blooming as brightly as her spirit. She found immense happiness in the outdoors, where she could enjoy the simple pleasures of life. Doris cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, children, and family, creating countless memories that will be treasured forever.
Doris was preceded in death by parents Claude & Fay Sloan; Husband O.E. Lane the father of her children; several siblings.
She is survived by her sons, Justin Lane (Freda) Calvin Lane (Cindy); her daughters, Regina Dye (Roger), and Victoria Click (Noah), special granddaughter LeShay Rosenbaum (John); 11 grandchildren; 18 Great grandchildren; and one great great grandson. Doris is also remembered by her loving siblings, one brother & two sisters Willie, Helen, and Marie. Special friend and care giver Kristen O'Connor, and Special thanks to Ballad Hospice.
Family will receive friends Saturday March 21, 2026, from 12:00 - 1:30 PM at Morris Baker Funeral Home, a graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Doris will be laid to rest surrounded by the love and memories of all who knew her. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Rest in peace, dear Doris.
