Earline Hensley Davenport, age 77 of Jonesborough, loving mother and grandmother went to be with the Lord on December 30, 2025. She was born on April 11, 1948 to the late Dana and Wilma Hensley. Her internal beauty will have a positive impact on all future generations of her family. Earline graduated from Lamar High School.
The most important things in her life were her faith and relationship with God, family, friends, and cat Tom-Tom. Her hobbies included gardening, growing her own fruit and vegetables, planting flowers, and canning for her family.
She was a master seamstress, but her greatest accomplishment was raising her family and caring for those she loved. She attended Cherokee Mountain Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Robert Davenport, Sr., three brothers, James, William and Robert Hensley, and several brothers and sisters-in-law.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Wilma Davenport (Michael Clark), Jeanie DeVore (Kenneth), Robert Davenport, Jr. (Amber); Grandchildren, Brandon, Carter, and Haleigh DeVore, Makayla and Hunter Davenport, Great-grandchildren, Emma and Julie Davenport, adopted granddaughters, Harper and Charlotte Clark, sister, Betty Davenport, sister-in-law, Faye Jones, as well as nieces, nephews, and relatives.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 3, 2026 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A funeral service will be immediately following at 7:00pm. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2026 at 2:00pm in the Cherokee Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery. All attending are asked to meet there by 1:50pm.
Pall bearers will be Brandon, Carter, and Kenneth DeVore, Robert and Hunter Davenport, and Michael Clark.
