Frances Ruby Jacobs

Ruby Blackwell Jacobs, 93, of Orlando, Florida, died Saturday, June 28, 2014 at the Florida Hospital South. She was a native of Marion, North Carolina, daughter of the late James Lora and Bertha Celestine Ricker Blackwell. Ruby was a 1939 graduate of Science Hill High School. She retired from Winn Dixie after 23 years as a cashier. Ruby was a former member of Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church. She had lived in Florida since 1947. In addition to her parents, two brothers, James Clifton Blackwell, Ray Blackwell and a sister, Marie Blackwell, preceded her in death. Survivors include: her daughter, Kimm Jacobs of Orlando, FL and her constant companions; Romeo, Sabrina, and Shadow. A graveside service will be conducted on Monday, July 7, 2014 at 2:30 pm in the Monte Vista Memorial Park under the direction of Rev. Bob Edmonds. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm then leave in procession at 2:15 pm.
