Frances Thompson

Frances Thompson, 94, of Johnson City, passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2014 in the Johnson City Medical Center. Frances was a Watauga, TN native and a lifelong resident of the Johnson City area. She was a daughter of the late John C. and Emma Lacey Dempsey. She was a homemaker. Throughout her life, Mrs. Thompson was active with her husband in their church and his career with the Washington County detention center. Mrs. Thompson was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Elizabethton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her son, Jack Thompson, Jr., in 1990; her beloved husband of 60 years, Jack Thompson, in 2007; and sister, Jewell Dempsey, in 2009. Survivors include: son, Peter Lacey Thompson, of Johnson City; grandson, Peter Lacey 'P. J.'? Thompson Jr., of Johnson City; several nieces and nephews; and dear friend, Pamela Mattson, of Summerville, SC.
