George Frank Hyatt

March 26, 1925 — August 21, 2006

George F. Hyatt, 81, 2508 Park Ave., died Monday, August 21, 2006 at the James H. Quillen Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Mr. Hyatt was a native of Washington County and had lived in Johnson City since 1983. He was a son of the late Bruce and Lena Tallman Hyatt. Mr. Hyatt was preceded in death by his wife Iradia Odom Hyatt; one son, Tommy Hyatt; one daughter, Eilena Faye Pierce; three brothers, Tom Hyatt, Sam Hyatt, Charlie Hyatt; four sisters Jane Smith,Mary Souse, Viola Larimer and Margie Hyatt. He was a retired self- employed contractor. Mr. Hyatt was a WWII US Army veteran. He was a member of Hawthorne Church of the Brethern. Survivors include, three sons, Ronnie Hyatt, Marshville, NC, Donnie Hyatt, Winston Salem, NC and Danny Hyatt, Hemby Bridge, NC; two daughters, Anna Wilson, Waxhaw, NC and Kitty Davis, Indian Trail, NC; four sisters, Ida Smith, Ruby Tester, June Frye and Dora Saults all of Johnson City; one brother, Ben Hyatt, Johnson City and several nieces and nephews. A graveside funeral service for Mr. Hyatt will be conducted at 11 AM Thursday, August 24, 2006 at Combs Cemetery, Johnson City. Pastor Jimmy Phillips will officiate. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 10:15 AM and travel in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at the funeral home.
