Gertie Rachel Fry

Gertie Rachel Fry, 101, of Johnson City, died October 7, 2011 at the NHC of Johnson City. She was a native of Piney Flats, daughter of the late Andrew and Daisy Hyatt Curtis. Gertie attended the True Gospel Free Will Baptist Church and was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Edward Fry, two sons, Edward L. Fry, Sr. and Oscar J. 'Shorty'? Fry, four brothers and a sister. Survivors include: a grandson, Edward 'Butch'? Fry, Jr. of Johnson City and a daughter-in-law, June Fry also of Johnson City. A funeral service is scheduled for Sunday, October 9, 2011 in the North Chapel of Morris '? Baker Funeral Home under the direction of Rev. Lon Tobin at 7:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until time of service at seven. A committal service will be conducted on Monday, October 10, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in Roselawn Memory Gardens. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery.
